http://www.masibikes.com/steel/speciale-commuter/ not sure about tire size, but I believe it is the same frame as their Randonneur model which takes 32's with fenders.
so, i'm starting to itch for a fixed gear commuter that is specially suited to pittsburgh conditions. here is a list of my demands for the frame:
horizontal dropouts (i want it fixed, after all)
clearance for fat-ish tires (at least 32mm) and fenders
eyelets and brazeons for rack and front and rear fenders
cable stops for the rear brake
other than that, i don't care about much, and i can even give a little ground here (e.g. how necessary are rear rack brazeons?), but this is pretty much what i'm looking for.
so what are my options? are there many? what are my chances of finding something my size on craigslist?
and what kind of handlebars should i go with? this might be the most important question.

surly steamroller or crosscheck both fit the bill nicely.
I'm happy with my Trek Earl for the money. I wanted a Steamroller though. Fenders and rack were a must for me though. Takes 32s too.
You must have strong legs if you are going to put a rack and carry things on a fixed gear around here.
I run a front rack on a track bike and carry all sorts of stuff on it. Lots of runs to the post office and back with full bins of mail. Not bad, I'm not super human.
I second Brad. It's been doable for me and my bike started out heavy. And I do about 200 miles/week on it.
well, strong legs or not, i live in shadyside and work at cmu. it's not like i ever have very much to contend with.
Hey I want one too. When you buy your bike pick me one up as well
