Problem with the Board

It's interesting that among new topics I see:

What streets need to be repaved first 153 Pseudacris 18 hours

but if I click on it then I see last message form mellange386 by about a day ealier and no new page.

this is a problem we've had in the past as well. if you clear out page/3 to the end and replace it with page/4, you can view pseudacris's message. this problem has usually only occurred in very long threads (i.e. tag-o-rama).

I noticed this in some other thread too, where it said Marko was the last poster, but clicking on the thread brought up the beginning

Also, for some reason private messages no longer result in an email being sent and that's in addition to PM's not always going through, which you can tell because it will be in the sent section, but not have a recipient

please tell me about these. i can't fix the general issue, but i can usually force it thru

pm's do work, you just have to send it from the actual thread and not their profile page. i really wish i knew why that was

I'm not seeing that problem with the thread Mikhail mentioned. It seems to be a legit 3 page thread, not a 4 page thread being misdisplayed. I think the problem may be different in this case.

Mikhail, try visiting that thread and simply refreshing it with Ctrl-R/Command-R or similar, so your browser gets the current version of the thread instead of showing you an old cached copy.

i already fixed it with the thread mikhail mentioned. there is an occasional problem that i can override when the thread needs to make a new page.

@erok the PM problem is basically just a bad link on the profile page.

I thought the PM problem was just a secret anti-spam device, and yinz were just super clever.

I've seen variations on this one recently, where I would get the yellow "new thread" dot on ones I've read partially, with the link going to the top of the thread instead of the last-read comment. (The "Cars hitting buildings" thread is doing this for me now.) Less commonly, I also sometimes get the blue "new comment" reload-arrow for threads I've read all of.

ok, so what does it mean when ALL the dots/arrow indicators disappear. It looks like I'm not logged in, or I've read all the threads, but I am logged in and I'm a slacker and haven't read ALL the threads.
