Trib: Injured cyclist back on 2 wheels

Wilbur Bey is ready to get back in the saddle.

For 14 years, Bey, 75, of East Liberty used his bicycle to get to work at a state liquor store in Edgewood Towne Center.

On Sept. 16, while heading to work, Bey swerved out of the way of an opening car door and was hit by a passing vehicle, breaking his left leg in two places.

Bey’s injuries put him in two hospitals before he was sent to physical therapy at Shadyside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where staff members recently gave him a new 24-speed bike. Read more»
