Bikes and Business Make a Good Tandem

CERTIFICATENYC Department of Transportation and the Oregon Transportation Research and Education Consortium both show that with increased bicycling traffic comes more consumer dollars spent in surrounding locations. By advocating for bike improvements in Pittsburgh, BikePGH is inherently advocating for PGH businesses. This is a call to all PGH businesses! Join the 90 other local businesses who help us help you, and become a BikePGH Business Member today.

Included in your Business Membership comes the opportunity for certification as a bike friendly workplace through our Bike Friendly Employer program. The program works to facilitate and promote biking as an option for employees.  For those businesses that want to cater to biking among their customer base, BikePGH will be unveiling the new Bike Friendly Establishment certification this spring.  Stay tuned for more details.  Follow the above link and you’ll see information about the 5 easy steps toward certification; join BikePGH, fill out a questionnaire, schedule a site visit, complete your Bike Action Plan, and collect your trophy! (yes, there’s a trophy.)

The next BFE deadline is March 29th. Contact bfe@bikepgh.org and we’ll get you started.
