Patience is a virtue
Pittsburgh police said they have responded to five pedestrian accidents over the past three weeks – all while the pedestrians were legally crossing city streets.
According to a news release issued Friday morning, in three of the five cases, “pedestrians were crossing the street in legal crosswalk areas and the drivers were turning onto the same street and struck the victims. All three victims required hospitalization.”
Investigators said the latest case happened as the pedestrian was getting off a Port Authority Bus. As the woman was crossing in the crosswalk, police said, an impatient driver tried to pass the bus and struck the victim.
