Grab some friends and take to the streets

May’s OpenStreetsPGH was nothing short of amazing. Getting 16,000 people out into the streets to have some fun on a Sunday morning took a veritable army of Intersection Sheriffs to manage bike and pedestrian safety at major intersections. So here’s to everyone who put on the hat and badge to make OpenStreetsPGH such a fun and safe event!

OpenStreetsPGH intersections are just parties waiting to happen. Radwan’s group of dental students grabbed a cute puppy, headed down to 26th Street in their scrubs, and convinced their traffic cop to let them use his squad car stereo!

Taking over a crossing with your group or club is an opportunity to support safer streets while spending a morning out in the sun. It’s also a great way to have your group be an official part of OpenStreetsPGH and engage literally thousands of people. We’ll provide the safety equipment, snacks and sunblock; you bring the fun.

If and your group would be interested in coming out on July 26th, give Bobby an email at bobby@bikepgh.org. Or, if you’d like to go solo, we can place you with some like-minded volunteers. Sign up here!
