Join the BikePGH team for the semester

Bike Pittsburgh is seeking interns to work in either our Business Program and Communications departments. This is an opportunity to play a role in transforming Pittsburgh’s streets into better places for people. Become a part of the team for a semester. Our ‘departments’ are made up of 1; we are a small team that works hard and is very effective.

Title: Business Program Intern
Description: Businesses are the hubs of our city – connecting owners, employees and customers to the places they inhabit. It is essential that BikePGH work collaboratively with businesses as we work towards creating a more bike friendly city. BikePGH is hiring one temporary, part-time Business Program Intern to assist us as we build strong, supportive relationships within the business community.

The Business Program Intern will work as part of team to: Coordinate BikePGH’s Bike Rack Program, Business Membership Program,  Bike Friendly Business program, Curate and create business content for the BikePGH blog, Facebook page, and Business Newsletters, Plan and execute Business Program events including: Business Network Happy Hours and Business Lunch + Learn 2.0s, Conduct outreach to storefronts through specific business districts, Track and evaluate program reach and success including collecting and entering contacts and other data in BikePGH’s databases, Monitor and respond to Business’ help requests though the BikePGH business program email
Timeline: Semester
Hours per week: 10
Qualifications: 
Compensation: This intern will receive volunteer hours and/or course credit. The intern will also have regular supervision to ensure that they get their desired working experience.


Title: Communications Intern — Blogging and Writing
Description: Bike Pittsburgh has provided a constant source of fun, reliable and timely information about events and issues relevant to people who bike and walk in the Pittsburgh area. The BikePGH Blogging and Writing intern will mainly focus on writing blog posts on events, infrastructure news, and writing feature pieces people who walk and bike in and around Pittsburgh.
Timeline: Semester
Hours per week: 10
Qualifications: Students with background in journalism or blogging recommended to apply. Love of biking and walking is a must.
Compensation: The BikePGH Blogging and Writing Intern will receive volunteer hours and/or course credit. The inter will also have regular supervision to ensure that they get their desired working experience.

Title: Communications Intern — Graphics & Snapshots
Description: Summer at Bike Pittsburgh is full of events, things to do, and new developments to describe and explore. Bike Pittsburgh is seeking a Graphics and Snapshots Intern to aid our communications manager in the creation of infographics, posters, logos, fliers, templates and more.
Timeline: Semester
Hours per week: 10
Qualifications: Students with background in graphic design, photography, and advocacy recommended to apply. Love of biking and walking is a must!
Compensation: The BikePGH Graphics and Snapshots Intern will receive volunteer hours and/or course credit. The inter will also have regular supervision to ensure that they get their desired working experience.
