Envision DowntownPublic Space Public Life Spring Survey

EnvisionDowntown

Calling All Urban Enthusiasts

Envision Downtown needs volunteers to help make Downtown better for everyone. Twice a year they organize a Public Space Public Life (PSPL) survey of Downtown Pittsburgh as part of ongoing work with Gehl Studios. Residents, students and urban enthusiasts are invited to under take a spring survey Wednesday April 6th and Saturday April 9th.

Volunteers will gain hands on experience using a unique Gehl public realm survey tool, a custom PSPL t-shirt and a deeper understanding of Downtown Pittsburgh. Volunteers will work in 3 hour shifts (between 7am and 9pm) to count people walking and on bikes, as well as capture age, gender, and the stationary activities of users in their assigned area of Downtown. The results from the survey will be used to shape data driven infrastructure, public space, and mobility projects.

Sign up for a shift on Envision’s iVolunteer webpage or go to the Envision Downtown website – www.EnvisionDowntown.com – for more information about the PSPL.
