Just got this from Port Authority, so I thought I’d pass it along.
“Allegheny County Department of Public Works (DPW) has notified Port Authority that its prime contractor, Rhino Construction, will close the Ninth Street Bridge beginning Tuesday, October 29, 2013 continuing for approximately three (3) weeks through and including Friday, November 15, 2013. The bridge will be closed to allow the contractor to perform major concrete deck and sidewalk repairs. Originally scheduled and started in September, the work and related closure was cut short to accommodate crowds attending Pittsburgh Pirates playoff games. The bridge will be closed to all motor vehicle & pedestrian traffic at approximately 9:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 and will remain so until around late afternoon Friday, November 15, 2013.”
The announcement also came with a set of bus stop closures and route detour info, but basically the Anderson (9th on N Side) at Isabella stop is replaced by the Sandusky (7th on N Side) at Isabella stop. If the bus uses that bridge in or out, it’s using the 7th St Bridge instead. No stop changes downtown.
