Most places I know, like U-Haul, only have CLASS 2 hitches. Does anyone know where I can buy & install such hitch? reddan Private Message Apr 18 2014 at 8:37am # Do you need the full Class 3 capacity (6000 pounds towing, 600 pounds tongue weight), or just the Class 2 (3500 pounds towing, 350 pounds tongue weight) capacity with a 2″ receiver? If the latter, a simple 1 1/4″ to 2″ adapter is all you need. mpm Private Message Apr 18 2014 at 9:38am # If you need a 2″ adapter I have one I’m not using and will give away for free. They did have to order it ahead of time, I just came in when it arrived and they did the install. I had them NOT install the electrical work they typically do with a hitch install, since I didn’t plan on pulling a trailer, that saved some cash on the install. screbner Private Message Apr 20 2014 at 6:34am # I’ve purchased trailer hitches from e-trailer.com. The ones I bought were designed specifically for the cars I put them on, and they have handy YouTube videos that walk you through the installation process. No drilling required.
