I’m cleared to ride in the woods again, so lets do that next friday night. Casual group mountain bike ride. No-drop, all skill levels, relaxed wind-down for the week. Riding with all skill levels is a great way to learn new skills or take it easy and work on perfecting existing ones. Meet us at the Thick Bikes parking lot on S 15th St to carpool at 6:15 or just meet us at the Pie Traynor Lot (behind the wave pool) around 7. Food and drinks after at Mad Mex. |

if anyone here cant (or wont) reply to the event on Facebook but would like to go, and needs a ride from thick to north park, please let me know so i can put the appropriate rack on my car. i can take 4 people with bikes (not including me) and can arrange other car pool options if needed. |

I’m in. Mind if I ask for your input on something? I’ve come to a few places where I’ve wanted a little lower gearing at Frick, how does North Park compare? I have a 2T bigger cog to swap in, I might do that tonight if it’s much hillier than Frick. |

We won’t be riding anything as steep as frick. There are some good long climbs in north park, but not really where I plan to do this ride. |

@cburch, what’s the turnout looking like? I’m in moderately decent shape, but I’m very new to mountain biking. Only been out 5-6 times (and most of those short runs). I have the lights and equipment, but I am worried about holding people back. If it appears to be a slow group, I’m more likely to attend. Thanks. |

Im quite unexperienced in the mountain bike dept. simply because most of my pals ride strictly on pavement. However, I’ve got a nice shiny mountain bike that needs some mud on it. I’ve gone out a few times alone over at Boyce, but after a somewhat nasty spill, I’ve been hesitant. Rides like this sound fun. Unfortunately, I can’t make it to this, but I’ll definitely keep my eyes open for future rides. |

lets go ride bavington! trails there drain insanely well and its super beginner friendly without being boring for experienced riders. meet at thick at 6:30 or at the Haul Rd parking lot at 7:15ish |

What kind of a bike do I need for these rides? Will a commuter with knobbly tires suffice or will it have to be a mountain bike? |

you’re going to want an actual mountain bike. that said, feel free to post more specifics about your bike as many old commuters are mountain bikes after all. |

Sorry – I am a noob around my hybrid and I dont know what specifics might help (I will have to get home before I can check the details). If it helps, here is a picture of it. It still doesnt have clips though. |

that could work, but you arent going to have much fun on it until the trails dry up a little more. if i was you i’d take a pass on these rides for another 3-4 weeks and come join us when the conditions will be a bit better. |
