Sorry for both Morningside and motorcycle derailments here.

Pierce-I’d call it a dual sport, I don’t think 400 pound motorcycles can really be dirt bikes. Glad you only seen not heard it.

My neighbors on both sides both commute by bike too!

Welcome Bruce! I didn’t know who Major Taylor was until last week after seeing a few guys from your club at the Silent Ride and looked it up. At first I thought it was a military thing (damn wars!) Pritty amazing story.

Music that you are listening to (or stuck in your head) right this second: My Morning Jacket “I’m Amazed”

I guess the time has come. Lived in the east end from 92-2001. Now live in oakmont. Working in the east end now in the cycling industry. Have ridden bikes in pgh since 1991, but have managed to stay out of the bike community. Crossed the USA solo in 2000, NC to PGH in 98, PGH to DC in 99, PGH to NJ and Back in 96.

Its nice to see firsthand the cohesion of the local riding organizations and the positive results had in the city so far.

Peace,

Len

that’s creepy stef, no man-legs please.

so are all the other morningsiders at the north end? i see people riding by our house daily, but it seems like everyone is heading all the way north. if anyone ever needs bike parking for the parish fest or san rocco at the church let us know, we are right across the street form the school and the parking lot.

Cburch, I don’t want to be too crass here in a family venue, but trust me, if stef does enough biking to develop quads like that, you will be a very, very happy man.

I did not. There’s no trail there. I’ll use that as my excuse (being a responsible trail rider) and definitely not that I’m a wuss.

Name: Billy Epting

Neighborhood: South Oakland

Type of riding: Most of my transportation, plus fun rides on nice days

# of bikes you own: Property is theft, but also I have 2 free riders (one my own, one bequeathed to me by an old roommate moving away)

Music that you are listening to (or stuck in your head): Joan Baez’s 2nd album on vinyl, but I’m still thinking about how awesome The Animals’ “Story of Bo Diddley” is (sorry Joan).

Favorite photo on a bike: Usually I’m moving too fast on my bike for photons to catch up (and yet somehow I finished the Spring Roll near last), so no photos exist of me on that. However, this is an accurate representation of me:

I’m an old-timey circus strongman by trade.

edit: also, my profile pic on this forum is me at the west end overlook after biking up there, so that’s bike-related
