Well, that was a poorly attended round!

Maybe it was the change in the weather.

By my calculations, we had only 5 participants (other than the original tagsetters).

Tag 1: We shall overcome: Pinky and Swalfoort
Tag 2: Volunteer: RustyRed, SRPIT and Stu

Spinning the wheel, the next tagsetters are Pinky and RustyRed.

Second person to identify their target also sets the end of the round (date and time).

Most likely, I haven’t spent a lot of time on my bike during this round. Part of that is weather and part of that is traveling (in my case).

Some of it, I’m sorry to say, is decreased use of the message board in general. In a brief appearance at volunteer night at BP HQ, I mentioned that I had just (minutes before) picked up the Tag-o-Rama tag, and a bunch of people said they just didn’t play the game anymore as they just weren’t on the board very often. If they’re not playing ToR, they’re even less likely to play WoF.

I think we’re still suffering from the board’s rebuild last winter, when several long time accounts were lost.

Tag #2: Comfort food

It’s been cold and/or damp. My head hurts. It’s almost lunchtime. Show me where to get some good comfort food.

Tag #2: Comfort food

Here’s the Chateau Cafe and Cakery.

Sweets for those who wish to find comfort for their sweet tooth, and savory sammiches for those who have a salt tooth.

I’m heading down there for lunch later today for a cheese and pickle panini. I have to avoid the sweets unless I want my blood sugar to plummet and get a wicked case of the ‘sweaty-sugar-shakes’.

Post visit review: I grew up making myself cheese and pickle sandwiches. Somehow, I just discovered that I liked them, no one ever turned me on to them and my family thought they were weird. They’d say “Don’t you want some meat on there?” Meat just ruins the salty, vinegary, crunchy, cheesy-goeyness of the cheese and pickle combo. Today, for the first time in my adult life…I found a restaurant that has them on the menu. It was delicious, and frankly an improvement on my toasted white bread/white American/dill selections. They used whole wheat and cheddar and grilled them Panini style. Sweet jebus, that hit the spot.
I come to find out that cheese and pickle sandwiches are a ‘quintessential British sandwich’ How about that?

I used to eat these all the time as a kid – both grilled and just cold with mayo. As an adult I usually swap out the pickle for some hot pepper rings and fancy cheese. Bon appetit!

Tag #1: Art Deco. Salt of the Earth restaurant. To be honest, I am not certain that this is Art Deco. Even if it is not, I do like the door

Tag #2: Comfort food. Spak Brothers Pizza!

It’s a new year, it’s finally starting to look a bit like spring, so let’s brush the dust off this thread, shall we?

The current tags are #1 Art Deco, set by RustyRed, and #2 Comfort food, set by Pinky. Let’s give this two full weekends to collect and post, and say 23:59 on Sunday, April 6.

Don’t count too much on me taking part. Due to work changes, my biking life is about to go right down the shitter. For the most part, I’m going to be forced to join the idiots on the parkways.

@edmonds. Just remember to keep the folding bike in the trunk for those “I gotta get outa here” lunches.

Cool. This might inspire me to get the bike out – finally!

I’ll play… Japanese grocery store (Arlington Heights, IL) filled with goodness (comfort food)

art-deco… the initial plan was to stop by the nearby F.L.Wright museum but ended up grabbing something easier to get to.
Gallagher building (commercial insurance, not the watermelon guy, sadly) Itasca, IL.
