Video Tag with campV and WuHoo.

Not a tough tag, of course, just a video of a memorable day.

The point

Lots of folks down here. You know what #traf spells backwards?

@TeamDecaf, you sure put a lot of effort into placing that tag, love it! who was is band?

one of my favorite things about this whole game is that even when people are being competitive, the fun they’re having is still evident.

Thanks HiddenVariable

A long-time favorite indie artist, Cat Power, The song title is Cherokee. The song was released late last summer.

And there’s a full-length version on this thread, but I added different music to the full-length version… the band, Great Northern, the song title: Home. The song is maybe 3 years old.

This highest point,
This green and pleasant land,
This old abode of robbers baron,
This strange repository of obscure neighborhoods,
This Pittsburgh.

Father’s Day tag with my son Peter.

With campV. Top of Herron Hill, beautiful up here. New place with great views.

Unbelievable views from this location on Herron Hill. Highest place in the city of Pittsburgh. The pictures do no justice to the reality of being here.

Great, thanks. Yeah, you’re looking down on Mt. Washington from up there. It just about level with the top floor of the Cathedral of Learning. And it’s not a very difficult ride.

What route do you take to get there? It looks amazing!

jonawebb

Private Message

I would go up Center to Bryn Mawr, ride up the sidewalk there (the street is Belgian Block), then right on Iowa and left on Adelaide. The reservoir and water tower are in Robert E. Williams memorial park.
Edit: I mean, not difficult by Dirty Dozen standards. It’s still a climb. But your front wheel’s not going to lift up.

Great view indeed, but I always thought the highest point in the city was on the north side by the radio tower.

@Jonawebb, thanks! I don’t mind a non-dirty dozen climb–and I’m not too proud to get off and hike up if need be.

@marko, I think there’s some dispute about that — but anyway, it’s the highest point between the Mon and the Allegheny.

Marko82

Private Message

Jun 17 2013 at 9:17am #

What dispute? North side = 1364 ft, Hill district = 1254 ft.

It is a fantastic view and not a bad ride. We went over Bloomfield bridge left to Blessing st left on MCkenzie and up through the park.

Is it Christmas, the Fourth of July, or Halloween? No, it’s Easter.

Set with campV.

I can see the image in his 6/17@8:43 p.m. post, but despite the clues (Easter, Praying), I have no idea what or where this is.

The images on this page are showing up only intermittently for me in Firefox, but they’re OK in IE and Chrome (though scrolling’s slow). That last image and many others on this page are high resolution images (1500×2000 scaled down by the browser to 450×600), each several megabytes, or perhaps 50 times the size in bytes they could be. I guess this site’s image upload function doesn’t automatically scale images to a reasonable size.

Short version: Try a different browser if you can’t see the images. Or click Reload or press Ctrl-R (Macs: Command-R) and see if that helps.

photo loads fine for me in Chrome on Pitt campus network, but was very slow on my phone. I suspect Steven’s right, the pictures are just very large.

I, too, have no idea what the what or where this is.

Yeah, but in the high-res photos sometimes you can see little details that give it away. Like in @td’s latest photo, in the reflection on the window, I can see… never mind, i have no idea where this place is, either. Decommissioned church?
