I figured it out. Not quite on my way home, but I can swing past that direction. If anyone wants to race me, I’ll even drop an additional clue. Bad drain grate nearby.

Bascom and Benton, almost on the NW corner of the box.

In the rain, Stu?

Nice grab. This place looks so much better IRL. The stone trim around unique shaped windows and river rock exterior walls are nice construction details.

I waited for the heavy rain to pass before I left downtown. Just drizzling. I was more worried about getting caught somewhere on Perry Hwy in the dark, in the rain.

I changed helmets a couple weeks ago, and don’t have a bazillion blinkies on the new one as on the old one, just one on the back, plus the one on the bike. Up in my neck of the woods, I’d rather be lit up like a fire truck at night.

New tag!

This house has a name which matches the street behind the camera. Last used many years ago as a dance and recreation center, where I suppose you might have had a clef all to yourself, with the right set of strings.

For those keeping track of neighborhood tags, there were plenty of tags set in a nearby park, but precious few in the area near the park, like this one. Also a tad hilly.

What’s irritating about that is that it’s right-side-up on my phone. Getting it right online is luck, AFAICT.

are you turning your phone to the side when you post?

You got new phone, correct? New smart phones have G-sensor (shows directions to the center of Earth) so phone knows it’s position and can show UI correctly. The same sensor is used to write the phone position into RAW format, so phone knows how picture has been taken and it knows current phone position and it shows picture correctly.

If you click on the photo, it turns right side up.

I’m using Opera 12.16 on Linux x86_64, 3.2.0-53-generic. When I click on your picture, it’s stays sideways.

Also, might I suggest we move your discussion out of this thread and into another one?

I have a very good idea of where to find the current tag. I’m fully planning to bow up and go hunting for it tomorrow…

I suppose we could take the convo off-thread, but since this whole thread is about taking photographs with cell phones, it isn’t that far off the mark to talk about it here. (It will get lost in the 150 pages and two threads so far; that’s the biggest downside I see to continuing the subject here.)

In any case, though, to make sense of positioning and Exif data, as Mikhail showed above, I went to Wikipedia, which then directed me to this discussion:

http://www.impulseadventure.com/photo/exif-orientation.html

Apparently I took the photo in orientation #6 (landscape). Depending on browser and zoom level, the pic is then rendered either rotated or not rotated, and that seems to be somewhat random.

Wouldn’t you like
To discover a place
That connects two points in a park
Together in space?
So it’s not in park
OK, so I lied
But you rode past this spot
On the neighborhoods ride

Since people have been complaining about this thread not loading properly, probably due to its length, I think I’ll start a new thread with a refresher of the rules and my next tag unless anyone objects.
