Pittsburgh has Toynbee, House of Hades and also the one I tagged, from yet another scheme. The clue involving the Marathon was meant to be pretty specific.

Because of all my riding research on Saturday, I know exactly where this is. But no bicycle today.

Some notes on the street art:

1) The Forbes and Ross Toynbee disappeared in the last two years: they repaved(*). I would suppose that Boy Mayor (and/or his commissioner of public art) were otherwise occupied at the time. I’m hoping that Peduto and his whatever are more attentive to such things, particularly as Smithfield has by far the largest number of these artifacts and it’s due to be transformed into a bicycle road. While this isn’t really a biking thing, it would be good to have some organisation put in a word for this stuff. Any ideas?

2) At this point in time Pittsburgh has more Hades than Toynbee or Stikman. I’ve been wondering why this might me… Did someone live here for a while?

3) For some reason these things are hard to spot, even if you know they’re there. Cars waiting for a light on top of them doesn’t help. Toynbee and Stikman are carefully placed in proximity to crosswalks: pedestrians have the opportunity to enjoy them. Hades is a bit inconsistent; a number of them would not be visible if cars were waiting for a light.

(*) I checked StreetView. Right now if you’re cruising up Ross you see the Toynbee (2012). If you approach along Forbes, you don’t (2013).

Otto Milk Condos, across Smallman from Wigle Whiskey

EDIT: Whoops, wrong side! Does it count?

Ahlir

Of course it counts. You just need to demonstrate that you were (more-or-less) at the actual location. Originally I had the following crop in mind, but then figured I ought to make it a bit more obvious:
I actually hadn’t even taken into account the entrance that you snapped (a classic snooze&lose).

[WHOA! Picasa reused the original tag url!!! Sorry about that.]

NEW TAG!

This should be an easy get, it’s in an area that’s seen plenty of tags before.

Not as hearty as bishop, perhaps.
But then again, not as bland as curate, either.

E. Carson St. at 19th

This was an interesting one. From the architecture it seemed like Carson, but nothing like it was showing up. Then I realized the street scene was a mirror image…

This thing somehow reminds me of a Benjamin, at least in the sense that it’s Exterior… yes, in a perennially tagged district.

OT Pub Chip Shop has legit Cornish Pasties. Should one so be inclined and have a hankering for such.

Yes, Blush, famous for its Cornish pasties and Welsh tarts.

But seriously, not a typo.

Heinz Lofts, Heinz and Progress. Apparently I did get the photo, but my phone has this cool bug where it will only show you a certain number of photos; to see more recent ones you have to delete old ones.

So here’s yesterday in the rain:

With the enantiomorph of this staircase getting posted recently, I couldn’t help myself. @Stu, how many of these are there? I can’t think of any other than these two.

AND it has to be a new photo. Judging from the lack of foliage in Paul’s photo it wasn’t taken recently.

Actually I don’t think it’s intended as a tag pickup. Paul just posted a mirror image of his other tag drop.

paulheckbert

Right. My photo is lacking vines and a green handrail and it has two sets of horizontal “stretchers”, not one, and those disqualify it. On the other hand, it has the bicycle in the preferred pose.
