Friends of the Riverfront needs members

I hear that Friends of the Riverfront has seen their membership numbers drop lately, so they could use an infusion of membership $ and donations. Friends of the Riverfront is the nonprofit that built and maintains the Three Rivers Heritage Trail system (Chateau, Northside, Strip, Lawrenceville, Southside, Eliza Furnace, Junction Hollow, Duck Hollow trails and they're working on Millvale-to-Freeport). Without those trails, Pittsburgh would be a much bleaker place! If you never joined them, join now. If you were a member but let your membership lapse, renew now. https://friendsoftheriverfront.org/membership/

More sad Friends of the Riverfront news: they lost Stewardship Coordinator Jeff McCauley, who worked hard to get Pittsburgh Public Works to maintain the trails, where he could, coordinated a small group of trail stewards (I am one) to do some of the remaining maintenance work, and shepherded lots of volunteers who planted trees and flowers along the Three Rivers Heritage Trails. Thank you, Jeff. We'll miss you! I believe Jeff is still in Pittsburgh, but I don't know his future plans. Executive Director Tom Baxter left FOR in the Spring. They moved their offices a few months ago. FOR is going through a lot of turnover.
