Was poking around the web site for East End Brewing. Noticed "Keg Ride" was listed at 10:00 AM Saturday May 7.
Is this THE Keg Ride? On a Saturday morning?
Yep, the registration table will close at 10:30 am.

Yes, the timing of the ride is one of a few changes this year, in hopes of making things BETTER for what could be a group of 1,000 GOOD BEER loving cyclists:
- Brewery is closed, less issues w/ pre-ride drinking. That's a different kind of ride.
- We don't have to fight Friday evening car traffic, so we can get rolling street closures, hopefully.
- Our destination won't be overloaded, as places are usually already busy on a Friday Night.
- People don't have to ride home at night afterward.
- Change is good.
Hope you can make it. See you then!
I like the new plan - can't wait!
I do too. Looking forward to this one.
Thanks guys. Our goal is to make it better every year... just like the beer.
We just updated the event page on the website, with the different registration options - including one w/ food at our destination. Have a look: http://www.eastendbrewing.com/node/916
Registration going live shortly!
Registration appears to be up! http://blog.ventureoutdoors.org/?ee=1
The "special beer event" is limited to 40 people, so sign up fast if you want to do that!
All registered... but as I said on twitter, I'm going to have to scamper away as soon as it is over. My bachelor party (which consists of laser tag & beer) starts right after the ride ends....
Flock of Cycles is still looking for a few more volunteers to help marshal the ride. Free registration, beer, and lunch provided for volunteers) More info.
Today is the last day to register for the lunch option! It also looks like the "Special Beer Event" tickets haven't sold out yet (at least at the time of this post).
$27 KEG RIDE Pre-registration w/lunch buffet (including veg/vegan option). Pre registration w/lunch ends April 27th.
$50 KEG RIDE Pre-registration w/lunch buffet (including veg/vegan option), PLUS a "Special Beer Event" at our destination.

Just got word that the eats at our destination will be Veg but not Vegan. Sorry folks - if you registered w/ the lunch option expecting vegan food, let me know and I'll refund the difference.
But I believe Kevin Sousa's pre-ride taco stand may be vegan friendly.
You have exactly 48 more hours to sign up!
Weather is predicted to be sunny in the morning, 30% chance of rain doesn't start until the evening!
I signed up last night! See you there.
Is it possible to register at the event, or does one need to pre-register?
$15 to pre-register online by 5pm Friday, $20 to register at the event (arrive before 10:30am).
Pretty sure you can, but it's $20.
One last bump, pre-registration ends at 6pm.
who's all going? i'll be there with my black-and-blue giant.
My wife and I are going.
I'll be there... but I'm supposed to make it back to D's in time to talk to the wedding photographer at 2PM. (And then bachelor party @ 4...)
So depending on our pace, I may not make it all the way to the mystery destination.
Looking forward to it immensely, first bike ride since I hurt my Achilles tendon a couple weeks back.
I'll be there!
Had a CRAZY month last month, so this will be my first for-leisure ride in awhile!
I will be there. My first! Something or other has always pre-empted this ride. Not this time!
I will be marshalling
ditto
Where is everyone??
I'm not there because I'm taking my mother out for mothers day stuff but, I went rain riding earlier. Also, I will be speaking with my boss about that investment opportunity.
That was fun! I think I saw you, myddrin, but I didn't get a chance to say hello. I think it went pretty darn smoothly. Great route, and thanks to all who organized it. Always good to see friends, too. What was the final head count?
Having it at Penn Brewery was so perverse, but a nice setting for a few hundred thirsty cyclists.
I had fun. Although I'll be sure to have a spare 26x2 tube next year.
fun times, more photos -> http://www.jonpratt.com/2011/2011-Pedal-Pale-Ale-Ride-0507
pratt, I've spend a good amount of time trying to figure out who you are, only to find the person who I think you are in one of your photos.
So either you pass around your camera, or you're a phantom of some kind.
In other news, photobomb:
I work for the United States Marshals Service's witness protection program, developing new ways for our clients to remain hidden in plain sight. I'm pretty good at my job.
I have been trying to figure it out also. Pratt, were you the dude that tipped over at the beginning of the ride near the kegs?
lol..yes
No worries, I don't think anyone saw that.
I nearly bit it today on Butler when I put my foot down at a light and the curb kinda crumbled. Dogs in a car saw and started to bark.
I just misjudged gravity.
This was the first time I could make the whole ride myself! Good times. Here are my pics: https://picasaweb.google.com/pachicka/2011PedalPaleAleKegRide#

@stefb you very well may have. Although I've ditched the beard I had at the viking ride and am sporting a van dyck now. I wanted to be more social, but I had to take off as soon as I had my beer.
Had to get up to D's in Regent Square by 2 to meet w/ the wedding photographer. (And I was only about 5 minutes late!)
Do we have a total on how many people showed up.
Glad Stef's boner made the highlights...Took a minute of looking at the picture to figure out why I was making such a weird face.

^^^Winning entry in the "Things I did not expect to read this morning" contest.
I told you no faces! Although when I ride, I am kinda like a cartoon character.. always wearing the same brown shants, so I am sure I would have been recognized. Let me just say that Nick started it. And also my GPS was broken before this incident, not as a result.
