I thought this was pretty cool, but I don’t much difference from our own inclines. It is a cute little german cog-driven commuter train to carry people and bikes up a 2 km hill. From the article, I can’t tell if it is 2 km in elevation, or 2 km distance. Either way, I bet I’d hop on the train to go up!
That German take on bike-carrying trains is pretty sweet. When I was in Ireland and Northern Ireland they had a whole enclosed car devoted to bikes on a couple of the commuter lines that I took. It was really nice to have a place out of the elements to keep the bike, but it probably takes a bit more time to load/unload.
