Nothing earth-shattering, compared to the stuff we sometimes deal with here.
Still, adam's apple in a little black acura with license plate HNK 0246 turned left (from forbes) onto Murray and was behind me through most of the business district, honking loudly (and louder) on each block or so. Until finally blaring the horn and going into the other lane to pass, and then, of course, having a chance to spend some quality time sitting together at the next red light.
Thanks a million Lyle and everyone here who harps on take-the-lane. Not that there's ever zero stress having someone blarring their horn at you (or me anyway) but I was able to stay secure in my knowledge that I was riding appropriately within my rights, and that this person was out of line. Big difference in how that would have gone (under the surface) maybe a year ago.
Plus, I knew I'd come home, put their license plate number on the intrawebs, and be among people who get it.
(And then go find that post on PA law, print it out, and find a place for it in with my bike stuff.)

I wish I could remember license plate numbers like this. I get the numbers and letters mixed up by the time I am done reading it.

@rsprake: I usually suck at that kind of thing. This one I just kept repeating (out loud) over and over. I think it was healthier than what my gut reaction would have provided as far as words in my head. And after dealing with this person, I was just slightly less out of it than I normally would be after dealing with an a.a. - not sure why, but my focus was a little better. (Usually I'm too shaken up to think of or remember any of the things I'd like to). And finally, that's a really easy plate to remember. Hank with no vowels, then count up by two's from zero:)

bikefind - anybody who is in that much of a rush to get through squirrel hill will NOT take Murray through the business district. That person clearly didn't have a clue, either that they were taking the slowest possible road or that a person on a bicycle was not slowing them up.
Good on ya for keeping your cool and doing what you needed to do despite the pressure/stress.

The Sq Hill business district has some oddly impatient drivers fairly often. Perhaps it's because it's how you get to 376 and people, perhaps it's because they hate life.
Usually by the time I have my phone open to type any combination of numbers or letters I am mixed up. Even 4 digit bus numbers will do it.

Usually when I ride through there it's the cars holding me up, not vice versa. Stuff like this just shows what irrational a-holes people in cars are.

Sorry Lyle, I didn't see the driver at all. Every time I made reference to the person, I kept reaching for masculine pronouns and stopping myself. Truly, AAs come in more than one gender. And not that I *want* other people to suffer, but there's some comfort in hearing that this driver has possibly been AAish, you know, not solely with me.
