Tonight I saw a Honda Civic, license plate GST-2040, with a TV playing in the front seat, mounted to the middle of the dashboard.
What would possess you to need to watch TV while you drive?

I worked in 12v electornics for years. A 7" dash mount is nothing. I've put 19-20" monitors in dash boards.
I don't know the current legislation, but it is illegal to have video playing while the car is in motion. There is usually a circuit to prevent this-parking break switch, accelerometer, or otherwise.
Most of the systems are easy to bypass, especially on the lower end units.

my last creative director once told me about how he likes to watch movies on his iphone while driving back to Detroit, because the drive is so boring. i guess veering into oncoming traffic would liven it up a bit...
