Please help resurface the C&O canal towpath

The C&O, when conceived, was intended to be a hiking path and there is a constituancy that opposes wrecking it's quagmired mule turd glory. The Western Maryland Rail Trail is a parallel, paved route for part of the C&O around Hancock. There is fundraising to extend it. http://www.westernmarylandrailtrail.com/
