I was just accepted to ride Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI)
I will be doing it on the unicycle. I am looking for advice from those of you who have ridden this ride or plan on riding this year.
I did ragbrai in 2006. There were 2 or 3 people that I saw who unicycled it. My advice is be ready for the heat and the sun. Also, the year I went was the second hilliest year so there was more hills then I was expecting.
one mile down, one mile up, repeat (but it is usually a gentle grade).
Thanks for the info.There are a few people on the USAF team that want to see me fail! I am in kind of good shape and plan to ride the uni on the MS 150 tomorrow. Tomorrows ride should help identify some weak points to improve on. After the MS 150 I have 40 days to correct my shortcomings. There is a proverb that says " A laborer's appetite works for him, his hunger driver him on". For me my fear works for me, the fear of failing drives me on.
If you survive the ms 150 you should survive ragbrai.
It is awesome seeing 10,000 bikes take off in the morning.
