Yes. Here's the Pittsburgh Park(ing) Day 2012 Wordpress site, and here's the Facebook page.
Flock of Cycles will have a spot in Oakland. Stay tuned for more details about that — and if there's a ride, pleeeease come visit us!
Is Pittsburgh participating in Park(ing) Day this year? ParkingDay.org suggests that Sept.
21, 2012 may be the day.
Last year IIRC there was a ride between all the Parks (which I missed, and I'd like to make that ride this year if I can).
Does anybody know if/how this is happening? TIA, Vannevar.

Woohoo, Parking Day!
I'm thinking of setting up something out side of the big idea.
I did a ride the last two years. I don't have any plans so far this year...maybe.
Shoot, I'll be at Interbike that week.
I want to challenge folks to step it up this year. Let's really re-imagine these spaces.
just google "sf parklet rebar" and click "images" for some inspiration. Any low-cost way of pulling off something along these lines?
@scott, what does BikePGH have in the works?
Coming up Friday. Has anyone planned a ride? Also is there some list of registered locations?
^+1
Is there some form of meta-map of these locations?
A noted route would be nice for those who would like to visit these spots.
So how can this be made into a game? People like games.
Parking day alleycat. Somebody make up a game card with the registered locations, take a pic with yourself in it at each park you get to.
Anybody up?
@edmonds59: Poker run.
Sounds like an awesome idea. I can't participate since I'll be at the Flock space all day, but we would love to be one of the locations along the route!
ETA: I have not yet seen a map of the registered locations, but a little bird told me that the Parking Day people are making one up tonight, so it should be available really soon
whats up with all these squealing little birds?
they are always giving up the secrets.
Apparently there's more than one ecosystem in which pigeons and rats occupy the same niche.
