Suzanne is awesome.
2nd Annual Pro Bikes Winter Lecture Series
As a side note two of the presenters are women and half my clients are female. Should be very beginner and/or female friendly.
Please join Pro Bikes for our second annual lecture series. Like last
year we're drawing from local experts to put together a series that
should be informative and help strengthen the local cycling community. 7p each night.
Jan 29th Chris Mayhew (JBV Coaching) present "Dress for Success". This
lecture will be aimed at enabling you to ride in all weather and tips
on thinking about how to dress for any conditions. Chris has been the
associate coach for JBV Coaching for 4 years and specializes in
training with power, cyclocross and road racing.
Feb 5th Suzanne Atkinson will present "Take it to the Next Level: 5
Ways to Become a Better Cyclist". Suzanne Atkinson, MD is a local
cycling and triathlon coach. As the founder owner of Steel City
Endurance, she specializes in coaching endurance athletes including
road cyclists, mountain bikers and triathletes of all levels.
Feb 12th Falvey will present blah blah blah.
The series will run thru Feb 26th.
Pro Bike is located at 5876 Forbes Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Please
call 412-586-5497 with any questions. We look forward to seeing you
there!
Chris, I think you're awesome, too!
i wasnt saying that chris wasn't awesome
excellent!
I don't care what you think of me. You can come and throw tomatoes at me. JUST SHOW UP!
Tomatoes are out of season. Lettuce is juuust ripe right now.
There will be a 15% discount on outer wear after the talk.
Joe- don't waste fresh vegetables on throwing. Tomatoes at peak rotten-and-ready-to-throw season right now!
mayhew has confirmed that he will NOT teach you how
to tie a tie here. look elsewhere
is there a link to the schedule anywhere? I can only find the 2009 one for some reason.
Except for FB, no, unfortunately. It's a little ad hoc. But what's on the FB page is posted at the top of this thread as well. Right now Suzanne and I are the only two people who are set. Sue Falvey is in as well but topic TBD. The final two weeks will probably be me and Suzanne again.
The lectures are also posted on the WPW calendar.
ok thanks!
@mayhew: Will the tips for riding in challenging weather be focused on higher end products like what we could buy in the store, or will you include ideas for cheaper ways of dressing for bad weather riding?
Primarily strategies for dressing and how to think about dressing combined with examples from the bike shop. If you have questions about something certainly let me know during the talk.
And, two points I'll mention during the talk; the cost of that stuff goes down since you get a lot of use out of it and the Steevo principle of "would you pay a dollar a ride to be warmer?".

Tomorrow, 7p.
I have totally slacked on this.
Tonight is canceled. Suzanne will be presenting in a couple of weeks. There will be a talk 7p Feb 12th.
