4th annual fish-fry ride Fri April 3rd

It's time for the 4th annual Good Friday fish fry ride to Holy Angels Church in Hays, just a level half mile off the GAP trail from Sandcastle (408 baldwin road) . They have one of the best fish sandwiches in the area and the price is just $9 for a sandwich, fries and slaw. We'll meet up at OTB around noon for a beverage with tires on the pavement at 12:30. Holy Angles gets very busy, so hopefully we'll hit them in between the lunch and dinner rush. (I think we had a half dozen folks with us last year) It's only four miles or so to the church, and then we'll have a leisurely ride on the river trail afterwards. This is a chill event open to all faiths/non-faiths - just so long as you are hungry because their samiches are pretty big. They have soup and some other stuff too, but it's all about the fish!

Awesome. Feels like this might be the year the stars align -- and I'll be able to join you.

I'd like to be there - and if I can convince my other half to join, we'll bring the tandem.

I'll be there, probably closer to 12:30, hopefully in time for a warm-up brew.

Friday forecast from NWS: Showers likely, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 62. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. So I'll meet you at OTB and hopefully the rain will come a little later than predicted. At least it will be somewhat warm.

Please Note: There is a (optional) devotion of maintaining silence between 12 and 3 on Good Friday. If the hall is especially quiet, this is probably the reason. Regardless, a little extra reverence on this day is appreciated.

Not going to make it. Got distracted doing garden prep and didn't realize how late it is already.

We ended up with five hungry riders. And other than some lite sprinkles early, it was a dry ride & even some late afternoon sun.

It wasn't exactly quiet in there but not raucous either. The ride was good and it even warmed up considerably in the later part of the afternoon. I got down to a T-shirt and took the long way home through McKeesport, Glassport, Clairton, and the Montour Trail. Met a couple of Montour Board members walking the trail in South Park Township. Worked-off the big sandwich in time for a small dinner and then got to hold the new grand baby all evening. A good day all around! Thanks for organizing it.
