maybe they could incorporate those non-visual interfaces into standard cars for sighted drivers and make us all safer. Since sighted drivers occasionally seem to be unable to actually look out the windshield to see the obstacles in front of them, perhaps a vibrating glove, puff of scented air, and audio alarm would get their attention. Or maybe it would just take up so much sensory cognizance that distraction wouldn't be an issue anymore.
edited to add - I think a blind person would make a fantastic driver - no preconcieved notion that driving is a right, not a privilege. Not yet.
