I would say you posted a pretty good review of the trail. They are for sure something to check out and in alot of way are the anti - pa riding. I am convinced the IMBA just let a robot programmed with the commend "build flowly trails" out in the woods and allegrippis is the result.
I have been out there twice this summer and IMO its must hit trail system in the area, in fact maybe a must hit in the country.

the 'concept' is not new. Tsali, The National whitewater center both in NC and numerous other trail around the country are built in very similar fashion. I do not wish for the local allegheny county parks to be built this way cause its always good to have different option but I do feel GPSing them and marking them would go along way into get more people into our sport and also eventually getting more money and volunteers out on trail work days.
Coming from an Expert level race guy who has split time between Utah and pittsburgh I love the raystowns trails and they really forces people to learn how to corner and be active on the bike due the rollers. Also the rollers make it possible to 'pump" some of the flat and uphill instead of pedaling up them. I would highly recommend light flickable and jumpable/pumpable bike out there that corners well. a no a 29er does not corner well . A dirt Jumper IMO would be a hell of a lot of fun out there.
Lastly before you go out there I would highly recommend checking out a local BMX track and learning how to pump rollers, it will make you raystown experience that much more fun and safer.
