Ambridge Hit and Run with bicylist ON SIDEWALK
There is a disturbing story in the local media this morning. A 9 year old girl in Ambridge was riding her bike on the sidewalk and got hit by a car. It's hard to tell from the interview, but it looks like maybe she was along the curb, and the mirror clipped her. The bike was dragged 20 feet, front wheel taco'd. She's fine, fortunately. Now, apparently, even some urban sidewalks are not safe for young riders!

Anyone else have a feeling this will be getting swept under the rug?
Sweet fancy Moses! Wasn't it an off duty cop that killed the last pedestrian on West Carson?
I'll throw in some cash and a few weekends of my time to staff a checkpoint on west Carson. Jack up the fines sell the impounded autos and our municipal pension will be 50% funded by years end.
I'm curious as to whether the West Carson St victim was waiting for a bus at the Duquesne Incline bus stop. That's a nasty stop. You're very exposed there, with little chance for error. Even if you're not waiting for a bus, just walking along there, there isn't much space for you to get around the bus shelter and staircase from the Incline.

He plea-bargained his case down to a 1-2 year sentence. More severe than I would have anticipated for a cop.

He would not release the results of the breath test but said there was a level of impairment.
Ya think? At 2:20am on SS?
