Anyone know about a cyclist taken in custody Friday 6.15pm at Schenley Quad?

Does anybody know the backstory of a cyclist apparently taken into custody Friday evening, about 6.15pm, at Schenley Quad? We were forming up for the Flock Ride and there was a few police vehicles and officers looking for somebody, and the end result was a cyclist (not a Flocker) taken away in a police car while another officer carried his pannier and bike. Complete speculation is that it happened simultaneous to the demonstration on the nearby corner about the Israeli Gaza action, perhaps there's a connection?

Is it possible they caught a suspected bike thief? Did he match the description in Pitt's alert at all?

If all that police activity was over a bike thief: awesome! There were about 5 police vehicles there and a dozen cops.

I arrived at Flock via Forbes from downtown about 6:10. I got to the Bigelow/Schenley/Forbes light on a red, at which point several of the demonstrators got out in front of traffic with their signs, chanted a bit, then quickly got out of the way when the light changed. Different sets were handling traffic on north- and southbound Bigelow/Schenley. Some of the cops were arriving on the scene as I passed through, but this was likely just minutes before they took someone in custody. I figured that someone went ballistic about cops showing up at all, so they may have taken that one rowdy person into custody for being rowdy. Just guessing at that.

The police blotter for last Friday lists an arrest at about 6:30 at '4400 block Forbes Ave' (which is the Carnegie's address) for 'Criminal Trespass'... (Terminology note: the park across the street from Dippy is Schenley Plaza. Schenley Quad is a group of Pitt dorms, six brick towers that were originally apartment blocks, between William Pitt Union and Litchfield towers.)
