Aspinwall development

A 47-acre stretch of riverfront that runs from Sharpsburg, through Aspinwall and into O’Hara has just been sold to a developer. http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/news/2015/09/02/exclusive-major-stretch-of-allegheny-riverfront.html It will be nice to see this dump get used for better purposes. Hopefully they will see the value of extending the multi-use trail.

This is a very exciting announcement, for cycling in particular. The article states the developer's intention to link to the trail, and as the site abuts the Aspinwall Riverfront Park, you would ultimately have continuous trail from RF47 through ARP behind PWSA all the way to Chapel Harbor. I'm very interested to see what will become of the Brilliant Cut railroad bridge now that AVRR has no scrap yard to service...

Wow, I never thought this was going to happen, but noticed them clearing this land and cleaning it over the past couple of months, so I wasn't sure what was going on. Thanks for posting this. I hope they can connect to the Millvale trail. That would be incredible.
