Cool! Did you do it all yourself or did you order the kit from bamboo studios?
I've been thinking about one of these for a long time.
my roommate and i (he did all the bamboo and frame related things, i just helped with the mechanical stuff) made a bike with bamboo harvested from an empty lot in pgh and parts from a trash bike... i rode it today... pretty fly!

we harvested the bamboo from an empty lot in pittsburgh and did everything ourselves using parts from a bike in the trash... it was about 70 bucks for epoxy, fiberglass, and fancy carbon wrap for the joints
mark, do you know if there is a source for cured bamboo in Pittsburgh?
Photos? Sound very cool.
we're going to go to kraynicks, probably on friday, and press the headset and to a couple other things i don't have the tools for... then pictures will come
this was just a test bike with a junk frame.. i think now we'll move on to bigger and better things.
i don't know much about the bamboo side of things other than we have a bunch of it that my roomy harvested last year. i can ask if you're interested but i'm pretty sure his source is "an empty lot in the hill"
I used to live (back in '91-'93) at the corner of Filmore and S. Neville. (Right behind CMU).
At that time there was a pretty healthy bamboo patch across the street, right over the tunnel.
But even though I go past there often, I haven't noticed if it is still there.
About how much bamboo did you collect per bike?
