indeed! it is a ball! A blast, if you will... We had an awesome tournament last weekend attended by folks from dayton, cleveland, columbus, lexington, and cinci (and pittsburgh). That is not to intimidate. But really, do come check it out. There are always extra mallets, and often folks will let you borrow a bike, if you happen to roll up on a special fragile ride. Some come out. We are friendly and generous and welcoming. Plus polo is fun.

I keep talking to Chad about coming out, but I always end up at work.... Maybe this week?

We had a bunch of new players during BikeFest, and hope we can continue to attract new folks.

A recent Craigslist score means that we have a bunch of fresh loaner mallets for people to use, with a decent supply of ski poles available if you'd like to build your own.

6pm Tuesdays and Thursday under the Bloomfield Bridge.

We're playing again as weather permits. Tonight will be four days this week.

Bike polo now happens at Arsenal Park on 39th St between Butler and Penn Ave during the week, as there are lights there that allow us to play until 9pm now, and come next week 10pm.

The usual days are still Tuesday and Thursday around 6pm until the lights go off. Beginners always welcome, we have spare mallets available.

Maybe this has been answered before, but what kind of bike/tires are best for bike polo?

I only have a big road bike with derailleurs I can't afford to screw up.

People play on all sorts of bikes, and it varies city to city. Something that you don't mind getting beat up a bit is good, though it isn't nearly as hard on bikes as people would like you to believe. I wouldn't ride a road bike.

Single speed drivetrains are good, as are tires 28c and larger. Some play on 26" wheels, some 700c, some freewheel, some fixed, mountain, road, track... It's all out there.
