Bike Rack in Station Square Garage

I am considering taking a job in Station Square. I was wondering if there is a rack in the main garage there? If there is, is it a decent rack that is secured? If there isn't, any suggestions on where to park that is preferably out of the elements? I did look on the forum and see some info about this, but it was from over a year ago. Thanks.

I'm surprised at how little station square has done to encourage people on bikes from stopping there and spending money. I mean, seems like a no brainer to me, but I guess I'm kind of biased.

Are the racks on the interior roadway, near the School for Allied Health still there? These would be across from the Gandy Dancer. Link to photo here: http://goo.gl/maps/Rbtla They seem to have SOME cover, and are sort of out of view from the general public. I think it's a popular area for students on smoke break, which can be a good or a bad thing.

Thanks for the replies. Swalfoort, I do believe those racks are still there. Seeing the picture stirred the cobwebs in my brain. I could make do with those. I tried calling the garages and asking if they have bike racks, but I have not had anyone answer yet. I'll keep trying. I'll will post an update once I get the info.

Same for runners too. I'm still not sure if there is a water fountain near the trail (the drinking kind, not the goofy musical one).

I finally got a chance to ride to Station Square and check out their bike rack situation. The main garage has a smaller sized bike rack. It is not secured to anything though. I didn't notice if there was a security camera pointing at it either. There were some bikes parked there.

This rack is still there. It too is not secured to anything. Does anyone know the person to contact about getting decent bike racks in station square? It is a nice area, but I am shocked how inadequate the bike parking is there. Thanks

Mildly off topic, but related: If we have to get into redesignating a couple of paid parking spaces to accommodate a bicycle rack, can we also redesignate a couple of paid parking spaces to accommodate motorcycles? I'm increasingly finding it next to impossible to park my Plan C machine, the one with a motor. If these parking garages understood that you can easily park two motorcycles in a single car parking space, they could actually make *more* money. Anything but the car.

Or something like this. You could just put a bike locker disguised as a car in the Station Square parking lot. No one would bother you, right? It's a car. You're allowed to park cars in the parking lot, right?

I think that would work for a little bit until "meddling teenage kids" would unmask it and show it for its true self.

Old Ford econoliner van works as well....and can hold multiple bikes! Yes, Stu! We need more MC parking downtown. This law of one vehicle per space is ridiculous. (With old meters, if you put two MC in a single parking space, both MCs got tickets because they could not prove WHICH vehicle paid the meter.....even if the meter was not expired at time of ticketing!) The new system should remedy that. But, MC still pay auto rates for on street parking.
