I'm still pretty new to Pittsburgh and my bike was stolen so I need to get a new one to get to work. The distance isn't far, and I don't bike recreationally so I just need a simple road bike though I do like the power of being able to shift gears...
Anyway I was wondering if there were any used bike shops I could check out to find a replacement? I bought my last bike from Positive Spin in Morgantown for only $80 and they were nice in helping me narrow down the ones that would actually fit me. I would rather visit a shop with many options than try every bike on Craigslist, but I don't want to bother getting a new one for such a short ride. Does anyone know a good place I could check out?

BTW, there's a page on local bike shops on the Wiki at
http://bikingpgh.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Finding_a_Bike_to_Ride.
But excellent sources of used bikes are FreeRide (cheap, choice and quality varies enormously, you can get very lucky), Thick, what else?

Free Ride is a shop similar to Positive Spin:

Thick Bikes is a great shop and has new and used bikes.
That really sucks about your bike getting stolen. I have a bike I could lend you for a while if it fits you (the manual says 5'9" - 6'3").

I really appreciate this everyone. I will definitely check out Thick Bikes and Free Ride.
Salty I appreciate the offer but, alas, I'm only 5'2".... Thank you for being so kind though.

FYI, Thick doesn't build frames anymore. haven't for a few years actually.

IDK, the rust on the headtube lug gives me pause, I wonder what's inside the frame. $90 seems steep for what it is... definitely has potential though.

I have a women's bike I can lend you indefinitely. Comes with a rack and fenders. I got it from a friend who was about to trash it. (No @marko82, not the blue one you gave me.) Runs pretty well, though I haven't a lot of experience with it.
I got it for my wife, but since she hardly ever rides, I can part with it for a while, but OTOH she might change her mind in a few months. It will certainly get you through the winter.
PM me if interested. I can meet you downtown or nearby.

Hampton Township is a bit far... Though I thank you for the suggestion, and @StuInMcCandless I really appreciate the offer but I'm looking for something permanent. I wouldn't want your wife to go without the option at least. Never know when a bike comes in handy! I really do appreciate your offer though, thank you very much.

Kraynicks up on Penn Ave used to have used bikes to sell sometimes, and that would be a cheap option.
