Bike to Work Day Planning Meeting Feb 17
We want you to help us reach out to your friends, relatives, and >>employers<< to get people on bikes for Bike to Work Day 2011! Come to the office Thursday evening if you have some great ideas for the event, if you want to participate in getting the word out to people!

Bike to School Day is a fantastic idea--while our main focus is getting adults on bikes for BTWD, maybe we could put together an online information packet relevant to families & schools. Volunteers who are interested in this part of BTWD could get in touch with the schools--the schools could then notify families about the event in their school newsletters or something like that. Let me know what you think! If it's too much work to do on top of BTWD, it would surely be a great thing to plan for the future. (Back to School Bike to School Day in September?)

@skipdip, I was actually thinking about the universities, but, the more the merrier. Probably smart to make it a separate thing in Sept as you suggest. Will do my best to make the BTWD meeting.

I'm actually trying to work with my school to set up a thing to encourage incoming college students (especially those new to the city and those who live off-campus) to start biking for transportation. Just a thought.

actually, I just got this email:
"Tomorrow night's Bike to Work Day planning meeting has been cancelled.
The next BTWD Planning meeting has been moved to May 11th, and will mostly be a volunteer training session to get everyone familiar with what to expect while tabling, leading a bikepool, etc. -- more details to come.
The event flyers and Car Free Fridays action kit are super close to being done, so I will get those out to you once they have been completed!
