By the way, Gooskis back room will be NO SMOKING during this event. Apparently a ton of people were calling Gooski's asking about the air quality so they decided to take this initiative on their own. Freakin sweeeeet.
Black and Goldsprints - April 17th '09 - Gooski's
The next Black and Goldsprints event is coming up on April 17 '09 at Gooski's in Polish Hill. Start smoking now, consider it training for this genuinely Pittsburgh establishment.
What are Goldsprints? Head to head sprints on identical track bikes on rollers (with forkstands - no roller skills required). Totally fun, completely brutal. The longest 15 seconds of your life.
Open qualifying from 7-9pm, bracketed racing into the night until a winner is declared. $5 to race, free to watch.

Huh. I was going to bring a box of cigars and encourage people to race with them clenched in their teeth.
Really.
at least give out cigars as prizes.
is jeff going to be there? he doesn't post here so i guess i can talk all the smack i want on his slow legs.
you hear that jeff! i'm going to beat you by 2/100ths of a second this time, instead of 1/100th!
They cold still clench cigars int heir teeth - they just would ahve to be unlit.
Mick

Hope you read this 'cause I'm comin' for ya' Ian! Last time you got me by 1/10 of a second but this time I'm shaving all my body hair, wearing an aerodynamic helmet, and otherwise racing completely nude. And if that doesn't work I'm gonna' throw a stick (cleverly disquised as a cigar) in yer spokes!
Black and Gold Sprints Rock!!!
This is happening in about a week.
I can't wait! This time instead of a sweater I will probably be business casual after a meeting. I love feeling out of place!
