If you have concerns, email some.photos to the manufacturer. It may be cosmetic, but could be product damage.
If you bought thru a reseller they may have reboxed a "like new" item and sold it as "New".

bottom bracket spindle integrity
Just got a fancy new bb from velo orange. Needless to say there are a couple dings and almost gouges on the spindle surface. Should I be concerned and ask for a replacement?
