Brunot Island

This is totally random. I was looking at some houses in Bellevue and I discovered Brunot Island on the map. Is there any way to access this island?

Apparently yes, but you have to be careful.

Power plant employees either walk the railroad bridge or take a barge over to the shore. Access, I assume, is for only those who work on the island.

There's quite a bit of info on the island here. You can get there by canoe, if you're careful.

The most recent story I saw about this incident was that it was suicide...

Interesting that Potter didn't find any no-trespassing signs when he landed.  Power companies are usually pretty serious about that ... maybe they figured the river itself ought to be enough...

This was from 2003.  Maybe things have changed?  Sounds like from the article that the plant actually liked teaching kids about the island. My guess, as we've found with railroads, is that their "douchiness" is company specific.

Ok guys I say we retake the island. We can set up a kayak blockade and shut out the workers.  Victory will be ours. Qua'pla!

Except they can walk over the railroad bridge.

From the Rt 65 end, maybe. There's a revolving security gate on the W Carson end. Probably easier to get there by kayak.

No, meaning the workers get there either via railroad bridge (walking) or barge.  I've seen the barge leave right by the DQE woods run facility.  It isn't anything special.

Oh, workers. If they walk the bridge they use that gate. Myself, I have no desire to visit the place.

Brunot Island would make an excellent tag.

You'd need something like this:
#6 The bicycle in the picture must get to the tag location under the player’s own pedal-power.

It is in the box...   We've had other tags slightly off road (all those railroad ones)
