From the thread subject I assumed this was one of those timed commuter races -- who gets there fastest, by what mode. But no one second thought I think I won't click on that link.
The crazy thing about it and the comments about "traffic flow" is that you can see that they were approaching a red light and there is traffic flowing at the intersection. Even if the cyclist wasn't there, he woud have to wait at the light!
Perhaps now there should be campaign for the early release of the driver, led possibly by the cyclist who will have the results of his provocation weighing heavily on his conscience for the rest of his life.
