Hey friends, Q (hardtravelin) and I are gonna teach a little clinic about trailside cooking at Thick on July 30. You may recall my joy in talking about this topic from
such threads as this one.
The general outline:
1. Stuff to consider
Three main approaches to food (calories-only, dehydrated-only, and fresh), solo vs team, type of trip -- both in riding difficulty and available resources on the route
2. Meal planning
Figuring out what you need to feel good, how to pack groceries, how to get groceries along the way, some ease-of-cooking tips, figuring out how much fuel you need
3. Recipes!
We'll have some printed recipes for folks to take home. Probably we'll do something like a peanut noodles recipe, and a red lentil curry recipe. Maybe a fry-brownie or skillet biscuit recipe.
We'll also have some show-and-tell, with our cooking gear and some examples of how we prep/pack food and what we bring along with us on different kinds of trips.
Let me know if there are any specific things you want us to teach!
