maybe have a competition between a car and a cargo bike
Cargo Cath
I want to put together a cargo cat, an Alley cat for cargo bikes/trikes. I have been pitching it to a few people, and have some great ideas. Would anyone like to help to organize it? It would be a great way to show the G20 a sustainable method of transport.

Maybe this is a tiny bit off-topic, maybe it's spot-on as a challenge, but try this: Try to figure out a way to deliver a bulky 100-pound load of cargo to the top of Churchill Street in McKees Rocks by bike. You solve that problem, you have solved every problem.
the dirty dozen cargo challenge.
I was just riding my kids around on the Xtracycle last night. SO much better than a trailer.
I think I might try riding the Dirty Dozen with the older one on the back.
I'm planning to build some seats with seat belts for the back this weekend.

This? This is some sort of mental illness.
I mean that in the best possible way, of course.

There's a woman I see around the South Side who has a kid's car seat bolted to her Xtra-cycle. Looks like a sweet set-up.
I found a clean car seat and I am gonna give it a shot. I like the safety, etc. I am gonna wait a while though, 6 months, that's winter, so 8+ months.
Anyway, Cargo Cat.
Ideas; have teams of three to five, bonus for more team members with cargo bikes, each team must have at least one, they can switch bikes as needed.
Carry parts of a living room from a place to another place, lamps, chairs, tables, books, etc.
Carry bricks, bonus for more bricks carried, take to a location to signify bike house building.
Scavenger hunt, find stuff like kitchen sink, dresser, mini fridge. Bonus points...
This would be neat to do during the g20, it would show you can move stuff with bikes.
More ideas needed.
