hmmm, tempting.
Casual MTB Ride tonight!
its a little late notice, but i'm planning a fun ride tonight if anyone is interested.
Casual group ride in Frick. No-drop, all skill levels, relaxed wind-down for the week. Hopefully this will be the start of a weekly thing. Meet at the tennis courts at the corner of Braddock and Biddle. Ride starts at 6:30, possibly getting hot dogs and (root) beer after. here's the Facebook event and for you googlers a google+ event
hopefully i will be able to turn this into a weekly thing. spending a couple hours in the woods followed by good food in regent square seems like the perfect way to end a week to me.
Dooooooooeeeeeeeeeet
A mountain bike ride for all levels is something I'm interested in. If i didn't have a sick child i would have come out tonight.
I might come to this, if I can leave work.... ughhh.
Now I want to buy a mountain bike.
Me too. Mr marv, I think we both have a problem and may need to check into new bike rehab
I will go to bike rehab with you guys.
Look at all of those beautiful mountain bikes. I sooo am buying one.
Thanks for leading the ride, cburch. I had a blast and certainly learned a lot. stefb, you totally got a lot faster towards the end of the day when you got more confidence. I couldn't keep up, that's for sure.
Might be time for some upgrades for me, new SPD cleats for sure, but I feel like I'm getting overly jarred over roots with my pogostick fork. Question is, should I convert to 15mm thru axle while I'm doing it?
If not that, then a 20mm. 9mm qr is for stupid road bikes.
i am not yet comfortable with nor i have enough time in on a big squishy bike. right before we rode in the woods, i did 22 miles on a fixed track bike. i have this adjustment period where i am nervous for the first hour on a different style of bike, then i relax a bit.
Sad I missed this, hope there is more soon. I have a mountain bike that I don't really ride much-I tried to do single track by myself for the first few times and I just don't think I have the right technique... would love to learn from someone.
Lean back. When you go over a log, put your pedals level. That is all I know.
I would like to come out to one of these but I normally can't make Fridays. Thanks to this thread I am considering a Redline Monocog 29er. Thanks everyone...
I was about to post on this very subject, last night I got to do just a little bit of off trail riding and I had a blast, and I was hoping to find someplace that I can ride that was gentle and good for beginners. now I know to try this out and I will be looking forward to riding with you all sometimes.
I am also looking forward to the indoor mtb park I heard about coming to pittsburgh. I am hoping to pick up some skills so I can have even more fun on my bike.
doing it again this week. but its a mid-afternoon ride as i have family visiting that evening. also we will be meeting at the blue slide instead of the tennis courts (beechwood and nichols) at 2:30
Facebook Event and Google+ Event
Still on for this week?
Yeah someone else is leading the ride, as Colin is out of town. Frick park. Usual time.
