How is it that we didn't know about this? I already have plans for tonight and can't make it.
Community meeting on Wood St/Mon Wharf connection
I just ran across this announcement about a public meeting on the Wood Street and Mon Wharf connection. Does anyone know if this has anything to do with a bike trail connection or is it just ped?
edit: I should mention that the meeting is for tonight.
I thought the connector was going to be a switchback down from the smithfield street bridge, unless this is going to be a second connector.
I don't know that this is necessarily about the bike trail connector, which I think is supposed to be a switchback. This may be about some other type of connection. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this was about.
I just blogged about this yesterday, sketches of the two unfinished sections below.
BTW I'm agitproping to call this the Mon-Whorf Trail in honor of Benjamin Whorf.
A floating barge connection from Point State Park,
out into the river and around the pilings,
then back on shore at the Whorf Trail.
A switchback ramp from the Smithfield Street
bridge down to the Mon-Whorf trail and parking lot.
