Cycle for CLP
48.4 miles. 3 bridges. 3 big hills. 19 stops at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh locations
Lou Testoni, Board of Trustees Chair and avid cyclist, has issued a challenge to all Library supporters. If Lou and other city cyclists can raise $15,000 in September, Lou will lead a 48.4 mile “Cycle for CLP” bike ride on October 1 that stops at all 19 Library locations across the city.
To contribute toward the goal, customers can donate online at www.ourlibraryourfuture.org or buy a “bike” for $1 at any CLP location. (Bikes are being delivered to branches on Tuesday, September 20 and are for sale through September 30.) Encourage others to support this event to raise awareness and funds Our Library, Our Future.
Sweet! I ran into an old boss of mine at the Carnegie Library and she told me about this.
THIS IS AWESOME!
F everyone's I, this ride is apparently full.
How does a group ride get "full?"
They only take so many people? I guess if you knew where and when it was leaving, you could just follow it, but I asked "Where and when is this ride starting, I'd be interested in participating" and got the reply "Sorry, it's full!"
Weird.
I saw this ride coming over the Hot Metal Bridge! Looked pretty small, although the weather was also crappy so maybe people bailed. Did anyone here "get in"?
