Steevo; I think I have one lying around that you can use. I'll double check when I get home tonight.
Does anybody have a clamp on seat post rack I can bum for a week?
Hey all,
Looking for a clamp on post rack for a week.
I have always been good about lending bike
touring stuff so I figure I would try to borrow
instead of buying.
Thanks
I think that is on the list of things Thick doesn't sell cause they don't believe in them
When are you looking to borrow?
I don't have a seatpost rack (I'm in the Thick camp on them, they have ruined a lot of tours), I do have a fancy CDW seatbag that holds lotsa stuff.

Don't forget, you can usually find a serviceable used rack from Free Ride. Open shop time is tomorrow from 6pm-10pm. Tonight is Women & Trans only shop time from 6pm-10pm, but you might want to call before riding over there.
Eric, in what ways have they failed in tours?
My Canadian pannier company has been pushing their's pretty hard:

@Steevo - just confirming that I have one, and you are welcome to borrow it. It's never been used, still has the tag from West Liberty Cycle. I think maybe I got it at one of the Bike Fest Chinese Auctions, so it seems appropriate to lend it out.
I'll have it downtown during the day. If that's not convenient for pick up, PM me and we can work something out.
Broken bolts, broken racks, failure to stay tight, etc. Granted, many of these tours were more rough stuff than pavement, but I've seen enough of these racks be just plane poorly designed and poorly installed to never recommend them to anyone.
That Arkel rack looks a lot better than most out there.
