I'm glad it's still there. I have been trying to find the time to go up and make sure it is ok.
Did it look fine?
Went for a ride this morning with a couple of friends. Through Fox Chapel, out past Hartwood Acres. Beautiful morning, beautiful area, fun riding (except for the hills - ugh).
The way back took us up Hart's Run. We stopped at the Ghost Bike. Riding up that hill was pretty powerful. Seeing it (which I had not yet done) was pretty moving. Especially today.
The first two cars that came up behind me freaked me out pretty good. The rest were just cars going by. No big deal. Most went by pretty fast - but giving us plenty of space. One slowed and passed very carefully.

I've been going by once a week or so. It looks fine. I'll update if it doesn't.
Awesome. I appreciate it.
My beau rode there yesterday (Saturday 6/19) and mentioned seeing it. He also said that a car driver told them to be careful riding there because of the accident.
Ghost Bike looked in good shape.
Thank you and whoever else was responsible for placing it.

Wow, it's like he saw the point, got out his telescope, and pointed it at the point, and got it exactly backwards.
it reminds me of penn dot's response to the recent increase in accidents involving cyclists. while the intentions are good, this is unfortunately just the way people think.
Or your glass could be half full and they meant there was a careless driver here once before and be careful as there might be others round.
Not having heard the intonations and seen the drivers face, my prefernce is to believe they understood the gravity of what took place and wished other cyclists well.
The grass is probably already growing in Don's grave and there's been no word on what chargers -if any, will be directed at the driver.
Anyhow any updates???
