that is creepy.
hopefully they read the PG, and might notice the article. If they're Trib readers (more likely, for the stix) they may never know.
Out by my parents' home, in the sticks, there is a house with a fully spray-painted white bike in the driveway, as decoration. Makes me do a double-take nearly every time. I'm sure they, nor do 99% of the people who pass it, have any idea as to the meaning of such a thing...

nope. morning-journal or chronicle telegram... maybe plain dealer if they're more 'cultured'
also, "feaux". "faux"
oh.. THOSE sticks. Probably just stick, sounds like the population density is too low to have plurals. I thought you meant like Plum or somewhere like that
i did say 99% cause i often see cyclists out there, however of the lyrca weekender set, and not the commuter set where awareness of such tenets of urban bike activism is a given...
also, the red flannel ride last month happened out there in those sticks, which included our very own edmonds59.

Really, I thought we knew better than to assume what people know and don't know based on what they wear, or their tonsorial stylings.
so Lyle you think the white decorative bike is more a sadistic comment, or perhaps someone who ran over their own child in their driveway? Or maybe it's an attempt at memorial and solidarity?
I saw some idiot brakeless/lightless/helmetless fixie hipster in SF cruising around on a completely white bike.. frame/wheels/spokes/tires, everything was white. Stylish, and functional. When you get hit the EMS responders can just chain your ride up at nearest pole. Job done!
