Flock of Cycles Party Ride: BIKEFEST 2012 EDITION
The BikeFest Flock ride will be on Friday, August 17. YAY!
We're meeting at Dippy the Dino in Oakland at 5:30pm and departing at 6pm. If you won't be off work in time for that, don't worry: we'll post the route soon, and you can catch up with us at a secondary point.
If you haven't Flocked with us before, this is a great time to start!
We'll be showcasing some of the detours through the parts of the East End stricken by tragedy lately, and we're planning a couple of special stops at bike-friendly places along the way. And we'll end with a potluck party in Mellon Park (you can bring food if you want, and we'll also make a stop to buy some things along the way).
As always, this will be a leisurely, super-no-drop ride at which all ages and skill levels are welcome.
We love bike safety, so helmets and lights are mandatory, and we will follow all traffic laws.

Party at the end was nice, more of a picnic than a party, chill. I had a crappy week, and standing around the food spread in the park with the group, I felt the pressure just go out of me, like a demon. Ahhh.

Although i think the cop was thrown off a bit when they rolled by to find a large group in the park that wasn't up to shenannigans.

Kinda felt like the vibe of the picnic gave it a cool reunion feel. But that could be because it was the first Flockish ride I'd been on in a long time. It rocked tho.

Oh yeah, I wanted to, once again, say how much I love the new starting time. I got home at 9:15 and got a full 6 hours of sleep. Very nice.
