augh no i wont be here this weekend

I'll be there, and as I posted on facebook, if anyone needs a lift from the city/South Side, I've got space on my rack for one or maybe two more bikes.

I'll probably be there on my new cyclocross bike trying to stay upright.

North Park is sweet. Will be on vacation though.

Dagnabit. I'll be riding the 3-State populaire with the Major Taylor club.

i'm going to ride the trail tonight to make sure it fits in the time limits and ability level for the ride. anyone want to join me? i'm going to try to be there about 6pm.

yes. they will happen at least monthly and at more humane start times in the future. i'm shooting for twice a month minimum. i'd like to do weekly, but i might be over reaching on that.

@Hoffman I'd like to car pool. I'm coming from Mt Washington so can meet you SS or wherever is convenient.

If someone else needs the ride to get there you can bump me as I have a car (I currently have no bike rack and the car is small or I'd offer a ride).

i picked up a couple more guides/leaders/sweepers today while scouting the loop. should be a good time!

I want to do this, but based on my failure to get up for the 10am pinball ride today, I can't see myself making it to the N. Hills by 9...

Borrowed my friend's MB today and I'm going to bed early so I don't sleep in. Can't wait for an awesome Flock in the woods tomorrow!

looks like the rain is going to stay nice and gentle, so its ON people. bring a waterproof shell if you care about that sort of thing, 'cause i'm riding unless its a torrential downpour. the trails we are riding are packed in and drain really well so we don't need to worry about damaging them.

Crap! Pie traynor lot is closed. I'm over by the wave pool now. Look for my big evil suv all covered in stickers with a bike and me next to it.

I had to bail because my hydraulic brake was leaking. Hope you guys do this again.

I second Kayla/Nick's comment. So fun! Everyone was super supportive & patient... even with the newbie that fell over about 10 or so times (yeah, that was me). That's why Flock rides kick ass. If I had been with a group that kept getting annoyed, I would probably never try MTB again. Now, I'm all excited to do better on the next ride.

And I'll third that. It was a lot of fun, and I hope that next time we're able to go out to Bavington like Colin said.

yes once i figure out the date we will be going to bavington. i might do a weeknight frick ride in the meantime too though.

I can't wait to get back in the woods. I want to see how far I can push this cross bike before I give in and buy a hardtail mtb

There is an awesome trail that's not marked in North Park. It's catty corner from the bait shop on the corner of Ingomar Rd.

You have to walk/ride up about 100 yards to the treeline and then you will see it slightly to the left.

*disclaimer* last rode this in 1998 or 9 so I don't know if it even exists anymore but it was really fun to ride.

Just throwing this out there: anyone interested in going to Frick tomorrow (Tuesday) evening? Maybe 5:30-6:00ish?

i would be, but im headed over to north park to play on the freeride trail if i get out of work in time.

oh and about the unmarked trail mentioned above:

there are 20 something miles of marked, legal and well maintained/properly built trails in north park, so i would encourage you all to stay off the illegal ones. it hurts the park and trails as well as the mtb community's (and ptag's) hard earned relationship with the park managers.
